This weekend's reading view

In the late afternoon, I waited for the thunderstorm that always seemed ready to break out - but never did.

Meanwhile, I plowed through 300 pages of Libba Bray's GOING BOVINE and 3 or 4 lime popsicles. Not like it was wasted anyway.

Are you enjoying Going Bovine?

Have you read The Family That Couldn't Sleep: A Medical Mystery, by D. T. Max? Wow!

I liked GOING BOVINE okay, but didn't think it was very well-written. Some of the action sequences were really confusing although I appreciate that they went for the big ending.

How's THE FAMILY THAT COULDN'T SLEEP? I haven't read it yet, although its premise sounds faintly terrifying.

It was sad, interesting and frightening. I don't want to eat beef after reading about Mad Cow. ~Jen

Oh, I see what you did there. And I just realized I ate a cheeseburger while we were discussing GOING BOVINE. Heh.
