It's back to the mighty Midwest this weekend for a momentous double graduation. I'm actually cheating and hitting PUBLISH before a pitiful night's sleep and the trip to LaGuardia, so come by and say hi! If by "say hi" I mean "allow me to glower at you because there is not enough coffee in the world right now." (Status to complain about not being able to sleep on a regular schedule: Revoked!)
I'm bringing 5 books, which is definitely too many, but I'm hoping to get some review stuff in (also the point of bringing my trusty laptop). For fun I'm bringing L.A. CONFIDENTIAL, which I never got around to finishing since the last time I wrote about it, and Mark Kitto's media memoir CHASING CHINA.

Five books is a lot, especially since L.A. Confidential is a pretty slow read, due to its complexity. But I too pack more books than I can bring, because I always finish at least one book and never know what I'll be in the mood to start at the time. Perhaps when and if we all get Kindles this won't be as much of a problem, but because i'm on record as disliking the ideas of kindles it looks like I'll be carrying multiple books around for the next few years.
The Kindle definitely looks the most attractive when I'm trying to pack to go somewhere, but there are a lot of reasons why I'm not in a hurry to get one. And the much lauded blog-subscription feature isn't much of a draw.
