Jezebel comments on what books are most likely to spark conversation on public transit, after a Paris Review blog post on the same topic. (Fourth act of a bad uber-niche romantic comedy: "You used the Paris Review?! This date is over!" etc.) Posting because, while no one actually approached me about either of these books, people on my assorted subway and bus rides were very curious about the covers of recent paperback reads EIGHT MEN OUT and BALL FOUR, almost to the double-taking point. So maybe you should try books with baseball players on the covers? (These were men and women, although men with a slight edge.) My official policy is not to fear CoverSpy; I'm way too well camouflaged for that.
