I love writing about giant unapproachable novels, so the news of a forthcoming 27-volume novel should be right up my alley... but, every three months? And Mark Z. Danielewski? That first vol better be a grabber.

This is kind of bewildering. I've talked about book series at the water-cooler-equivalent before, but keeping up with this series is bound to be way more work than staying up to date on, say, The Hunger Games. The comparison to Iron Chef or whatever is strained at best.

Unless each release isn't book length, but more like novellas... or installments. If that's the case, it'll be interesting to see how they price out the installments, or draw in people who maybe missed the first few and want to pick up later.

Tangentially related, I just found an edition of Skippy Dies that was divided up into three smaller volumes, each with its own title. I like this trend, and hope it continues.
