You heard it here first
The next time I open a novel and discovers it has talking animals in it, no matter what the source... I am going to set that book down and walk away.
No more talking animal books for adults. Ever! Thank you, and goodnight.

Noooooo!
But...but... WATERSHIP DOWN!
animal farm :(
what did you read that spoiled you?
Jess, it was THE EVOLUTION OF BRUNO LITTLEMORE. I cannot un-recommend it enough.
8, luckily I already read ANIMAL FARM before instituting the ban, so it will survive.
Good thing that was never on my list so I don't have to cross it off. Can you write it a really bad review on goodreads so if I ever try to read it, I will be reminded?
I added a link to my negative review on it to the profile. I was going to one-star it as well, but... I feel kind of bad because the author is on Goodreads and would see my one-star review.
On the other hand, I see that one of my friends gave it FOUR stars and the other gave it FIVE (?!?!?!) so maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
I wonder if you'd like MR THUNDERMUG better. It is shorter and does not indulge in the picaresque. But I don't want to goad you to break a commitment you've only just made.
Thanks for updating your goodreads for me. I have to say, I originally thought this was going to be about Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary ...
I actually haven't read it yet. I didn't really take its release seriously but (like all other Sedaris works) it's been selling insanely, so I should.
