I am usually wary of books whose covers prominently feature glamorous photos of their authors.
(Unless they're cookbooks, which are all about a cult of personality, anyway.)
I couldn't figure out how to comment on the McCain Pratt poster on your other blog, so I figured I'd comment here.
The library system of Baltimore is called the Enoch Pratt Free Library, so my first thought upon seeing the poster was "I didn't know libraries could run for vice president!"
It seems like most personal-finance books feature their authors on the cover, which I guess makes sense if you're looking for a particular expert. At least Torabi dresses like me (somewhat).
As for the poster, Spencer Pratt may for all I know be related to Enoch Pratt, although I doubt it. Given how scorned he is (by me) such association could only help.
