Blind item
What memoirist am I unable to stop hate-reading because his lack of self-awareness is totally astounding? (Not the one who was recently profiled in the New York Times. That profile actually made me like him a lot more.)

I hate-read Tom Wolfe. (does he say "tout le monde" in every book as signifier of pretension?) but that isn't really anything to do with your question.
I guess a better question would be "Who do you hate-read, and why?"
I don't want to think it's an inevitable outcrop of a reading life, but that would certainly make me feel less guilty about doing it.
