I've sworn off McEwan ever since the crushing disappointment that was ON CHESIL BEACH. He's gotten better, I hope?
Did you manage to snag a NIGHT FILM ARC, maybe at BEA? Just got one yesterday, diving into it with a fair amount of excitement.
I did, although I had to ship it so I haven't had time to read it yet. But I echo your excitement! She was at BEA, even, as her first event for the new book.
I liked SWEET TOOTH more than ON CHESIL BEACH, but obviously there's a lot more room in a full-length novel to do things. There is a passing similarity between Serena of SWEET TOOTH and the heroine of ON CHESIL BEACH, but I think that relates more to the timeframe they're in.
