My friend Marjorie Hakala has an
essay on The Millions right now called "Seven Reasons To Read A Dance To The Music Of Time," referring of course to Anthony Powell's classic 12-book series. (I'm so ignorant, not only have I not read this Modern Library pick, I had been saying until yesterday that it was
10 books. Sad.) I think I'm convinced! And if you don't want to take my word for it, Roger Ebert
also recommended the article.
